While this past year was a tough time for many, for Brandon Young and his management and consulting firm, 2020 was their breakthrough year. Throughout the struggles of the global pandemic, Brandon found more growth and success than his previous five years in business. The worldwide changes allowed Brandon to step back and see the bigger picture. In doing so, he was able to reaffirm the importance of helping others and giving back to his community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy responsibility has increased to want to add value to my professional and personal life as well as the need to represent other diverse businesses. It made me realize that I have to raise the bar. I am a voice for many. I have the vision of bridging the gap between technology, construction and project management along with creating unique processes that allows introverts and extroverts to cohesively work together to create amazing products and solve the problems of the world.\u201d <\/strong>Brandon says.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Brandon develops unique technology solutions for many entrepreneurs and businesses, which served as the foundation for his firm, Young Management and Consulting (YMC) until 2019 when he decided to leave corporate America and pursue full-time entrepreneurship. As a company, YMC works to bridge the gap between technology, construction, and project management, along with creating bespoke processes that allow both introverts and extroverts to work together in a cohesive manner, effectively creating amazing products and solving the problems of the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this past year, Brandon was proud to bring on seven new team members to YMC. Together as a larger team, YMC brought in ten new clients and managed over fifteen projects. And if that wasn\u2019t enough, they also donated over $25,000 to local charities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe were able to leverage our relationships, diversity along with our navy seals approach to projects.\u00a0 We do what it takes to get stuff done.\u00a0 Because we are small and diverse, we truly know the work inside and out, and how to effectively solve the needs of our clients.\u00a0 We are very thankful for the companies that are pushing the agenda to support small and diverse businesses, as there really is no Young Management & Consulting without the diversity initiatives being pushed. YMC\u2019s technology expertise allowed the company to pivot quickly to a rapidly growing virtual working environment,\u201d <\/strong>Brandon outlines.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The strengths of YMC that make them flexible and versatile, Brandon admits, also come with their fair share of challenges. Knowing that a company\u2019s number one asset is their team, closely followed by their clients, Brandon is very selective about the folks he works with – which is difficult in a small industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s challenging to find the right profile in a new team member.\u00a0 There is limited talent in the energy and technology sector, and many companies are fighting for the same resources.\u00a0 Motivation hasn’t been that challenging, finding someone who thinks like me but has their own unique style to do things their way is challenging.\u00a0 It’s hard to find someone that can fill\u00a0 my shoes in a system that is still in development while projects are in flight.\u00a0 Luckily, everyone on my team shares the motivation and common goal to succeed for our clients and we all share the same vision and dream. \u00a0 A dream once solely mine is now a shared dream amongst all that work at Young Management & Consulting and that is amazing,\u201d<\/strong> Brandon states.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In the coming year, Brandon\u2019s focus is on his customer. The next few months are dedicated to adding value to customers, strategically, as well as adding more staff and projects to his team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to continue to give back to the community continuously and seek company to company mentorship. My ultimate goal is to be a key provider to big companies, but as a small company right now,\u201d<\/strong> Brandon says.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
