{"id":6001,"date":"2023-03-16T19:54:57","date_gmt":"2023-03-16T23:54:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/miaminewsnetwork.com\/?p=6001"},"modified":"2023-03-16T19:54:57","modified_gmt":"2023-03-16T23:54:57","slug":"sale-of-alcohol-in-miami-beach-may-have-a-new-time-restriction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miaminewsnetwork.com\/?p=6001","title":{"rendered":"Sale of alcohol in Miami Beach may have a new time restriction"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Travelers who head to South Beach, Miami for the bars and nightclubs that party until dawn may find that the parties don&#8217;t last as long as they used to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A judge ruled Tuesday that the closing time for alcohol sales in parts of South Beach could be changed, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2 a.m. after several attempts by Miami Beach officials to address complaints from city residents about nightclubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Hopefully we can start implementing the law very soon,&#8221; Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber said in a Facebook post after Tuesday&#8217;s decision. &#8220;This is a residential neighborhood that shouldn&#8217;t have to put up with 24-hour nightclubs.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the rule, &#8220;private clubs located in&#8221; Miami Beach&#8217;s mixed-use entertainment district south of 16th Street, known as MXE, &#8220;may only offer alcoholic beverages for sale or consumption on the premises between 8 a.m. :00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In previous years, Miami Beach officials have voted to temporarily limit alcohol sales in the district until 2 a.m. for the spring break season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Travelers who head to South Beach, Miami for the bars and nightclubs that party until dawn may find that the parties don&#8217;t last as long as they used to.
