Six people died Wednesday after a driver crashed a vehicle into a construction site near Baltimore, Maryland, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The accident occurred when a vehicle entered a construction zone between temporary concrete walls and struck several construction workers in Woodlawn, state police said in a news release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maryland State Police responded to the accident around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday. The driver of the vehicle \u2013 whose identity has not been released \u2013 was taken to a trauma center for medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police indicated that investigators believe a second vehicle may have been involved in the accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The construction area is on the inner loop of Interstate 695 at Security Boulevard, police said. Some roads in the area were temporarily closed, but all roads were reopened at 6:45 p.m., a state police spokesperson told CNN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The National Transportation Safety Board said it is sending investigators to work with state police on the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
