An 84-year-old white man accused of shooting a black teenager has pleaded not guilty in a US court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Andrew Lester allegedly shot Ralph Yarl after he mistakenly walked up to the man’s house on 115th Street in Kansas City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 16-year-old was trying to pick up his younger siblings, who were at a property a street away called 115th Terrace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prosecutors claim Lester fired two shots through a glass door with a .32-caliber revolver – hitting Ralph in the head and arm last Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ralph then had to go to multiple homes to ask for help, and eventually found someone who would call 911.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the teenager was being treated in hospital, he told police that the man had said: “Don’t come around here.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lester had turned himself in on Tuesday – and had agreed to relinquish his weapons, avoid contacting Ralph and his family, and have his mobile phone monitored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
