Dr. Alex Stavrianoudakis is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Osteopractic Spinal Manipulative Care Specialist, who provides individualized care in the BioSport Physical Therapy clinic, and has a large following on social media.
Alex has always been motivated to offer help to others and was looking for a way to change the way people were treated in health care. He didn’t want there to be any more clinics that put patients through a mill-like experience.
“I wanted to create a one-on-one care environment with an amazing team and culture behind me where patients would actually want to come to therapy and feel happy to be there and to be getting better.” Alex shares.
Alex found his motivation in having his own business where he could combine fitness with healing and thus be able to help many people in his own way. He decided to undertake Fellowship training so that he could help teach and instruct his fellow colleagues and help them to grow as well.
The experience gained in his professional career has allowed Alex to consolidate three therapeutic clinics so far. His journey first started within the first year post graduate school, he utilized creative thinking to buy into a small clinic, becoming a junior partner.
“I worked my way up to full ownership and grew the clinic from two therapists to 10 with a new clinic building, and created four times the growth within the company.” Alex recounts.
Over time Alex managed to expand BioSport Physical Therapy, which has now expanded to three full clinics. Their motto has always been the “one on one” approach through which each therapist gives the full attention and time needed to each patient.
In his daily work, Alex works through holistic healing focusing not only on exercise, but manual care involving cupping, scraping, spinal manipulation, myofascial release and whatever the patient may need for their specific injury or concern.
“I’m currently working on getting my research study published while I was completing my fellowship training as well into a physical therapy focussed research journal.” Alex adds.
The amazing work done by Alex and his team has opened up new horizons for him and has provided the opportunity to work with high-level athletes in different sports such as mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters Nick and Nate Diaz, Hyder Amil, USA cricket team members, the San Diego Chargers Football team, and even the number one armwrestler in North America, Devon “No Limits” Larratt.
“I am certified in utilizing dry needling and spinal manipulation. I’m also certified now with the instrument assisted soft tissue massage (IASTM) and also extremity manipulation therapy (EMT). After completing manual therapies I will load the patient’s or athlete’s joints with specific exercises which will in effect strengthen the person and get them feeling amazing again.” Alex explains.
Alex is able to stand out and differentiate himself from other professionals in his industry because of his meticulous customer service, which is backed up by the skills acquired through his years of experience.
“My gift is my connection with patients. I am a healer who will give my patient everything they need and give them the personalized attention they deserve. I will never give up on my patients, and I will always be there for them when they need me.” He says.
Alex manages to create an incredible bond with his patients that transcends the doctor-patient relationship. He loves his patients like a family member, giving them his own cell phone to connect when needed.
The walls of BioSport Physical Therapy clinics are decorated by over 500 one-to-two paragraph reviews of clients who share how profoundly different their experience with Alex’s therapy has been.
In the near future, Alex is looking to continue growing his skill set, creating high-quality clinics, and acquiring a larger clientele. If you would like to learn more about Alex, click here. If you would like to learn more about BioSport, his clinic, click here.
